Known issue: AOL continues to distort links in their e-mails, so I highly suggest using a non-AOL e-mail address to sign up. Please pass any further issues (and terminal e-mail address changes) to Rob G. |

It is absolutely free to use this signup server. The signup server is supported by me and by kind voluntary donations. Every gift of support serves the goal of keeping the signup server a user-supported, non-commercial service. But, the fact is, it's absolutely free to use this signup server with no expectation of donation. Got it? Now go travel!
As a number of you already know, the Paisley Bandana has become an unofficial symbol of the space-available traveler (or SPAT, for short). Quite a few members of Dirk Pepperd's Space-A Message Board display them when traveling. Tied to your suitcase, backpack, or carry-on's handle, a bandana signifies your spirit of adventure--exactly the attitude needed when traveling mil space-a. Well, I've got a stack of unique Take-a-hop red bandanas (21" x 21", 100% cotton, made in U.S.A.) and I pass them out, as a way for me to say thank you for contributing toward the signup server. So, for donations of $10 or more, I'll drop a free bandana in the mail to you ($18 and you'll get two, $25 and you'll get three, $30 and you'll get four, $35 and you'll get five, and so on). Just provide a mailing address to receive it. Most importantly, you'll be helping in a great way to keep the signup server going, but also getting a gift that would normally cost you anywhere between about $1.00 and $6.00 (before shipping / before gas / your time, etc.) There's no hidden agenda, no e-mail newsletter subscriptions, and no, you won't be added to any junk mailing lists. And I'll keep on handing them out until they're gone (and, of course, I'll remove this notice before they get too low). If, for any reason, you don't wish to receive a bandana, just tell me (or omit your address) and I'll forego sending it to you and save them for the next contributor. Thanks, everyone, for your trust and support! UPDATE: New bandanas have arrived :) Now it's all about packaging them and making it to the post office. As always, thanks for supporting the site! |

Use of this site indicates your agreement to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy below.
The site manager of takeahop.org highly respects the privacy rights of its online visitors. Your personal information, including e-mail address, will not be knowingly shared with anyone other than the terminal in question. After confirming your signup request, e-mails are generated and all personal information is deleted from this server. E-mails are only stored temporarily and locally, and purged, at the latest, at month's end. (Any new users requesting references in this regard can refer to my fellow members of Dirk Pepperd's Space-A Message Board where I trust you'll find adequate confirmation.) This service is provided free and as a convenience to eligible DoD space-available travelers at the user's own risk. The development and maintenance of this signup server is soley an effort of personal commitment occuring during free time. Donations are not required, but are accepted and appreciated in any amount, if you find value and wish to contribute toward its continuing existence. (For tax purposes, it is not a registered charity and donations made are not tax deductible.) The site manager and domain owner expressly disclaim any potential liability associated with the use of this service. Do not use this or any other similar private service to sign up for space-A if you are concerned about sending your info via the Internet. This form (just like your own private e-mail) is sent over open communications channels. Some providers (such as AOL and Netspace.net) do not always properly deliver (or sometimes disable links in) e-mails. If you experience trouble due to this type of problem, please try utilizing another e-mail provider with this service. By utilizing this web site, you acknowledge and agree to the foregoing stipulations. P.S. As of 1 Sep 2006, this is the ONLY multi-location simultaneous signup service available worldwide. Roy Buckman's service was the original. I'm proud that I was able to grab the torch and keep it burning. |
